There are four seasons in a year, and my favorite season is spring.

In spring, everything wakes up from their long winter sleep. The grass turns green and begins to grow out of the ground. Flowers bloom everywhere. Last summer vacation, I went on an unforgettable trip to Beijing with my parents.
Beijing is the capital of China and it has a long history and rich culture. As soon as we arrived at Beijing, we were attracted by its grandeur.
First, we visited the Great Wall. It is one of the seven wonders of the world. Standing on the Great Wall, I was deeply impressed by its magnificent scenery. The wall winds its way through the mountains, looking like a huge dragon. We climbed the Great Wall step by step, enjoying the beautiful views along the way. Although we were very tired when we reached the top, the sense of achievement was really great.
Next, we went to the Forbidden City. It is a vast and magnificent palace complex. The red walls and yellow tiles are very eye-catching. Inside the Forbidden City, there are numerous precious cultural relics on display, which made me feel the profoundness of Chinese history and culture.
We also visited Tiananmen Square. It is the largest city square in the world. There were many people there. We watched the solemn flag-raising ceremony early in the morning. When the national flag was rising slowly, I felt extremely proud as a Chinese.
In addition, we tasted a lot of delicious local food in Beijing, such as Peking duck. It was really mouthwatering.

My Best Friend（我最好的朋友）

I have a best friend called Tom. He is 14 years old and we have known each other since we were in primary school.
Tom is a very kind and friendly boy. He always has a smile on his face, which makes him look very approachable. He has black hair and brown eyes. He is of medium height and build.
He is very interested in science and he studies it very hard. He often reads science books and participates in science competitions. Last year, he won first prize in a regional science competition. His dream is to become a famous scientist in the future and make great contributions to our society.
In his free time, he likes playing basketball. He is really good at it. We often play basketball together after school. Playing basketball not only helps us keep fit but also strengthens our friendship.
